The Builders Political Action Committee (B-PAC), which provides campaign contributions to state and local candidates and elected officials who support the pro-housing mission of the Home Builders Association of Georgia, held two fundraisers at the 2016 Fall Board Meeting at Jekyll Island which raised over $10,000.
A golf tournament, held at Jekyll Island Golf Club’s Pine Lakes Course was well attended by HBAG members from local HBAs around the state. Tournament sponsorships were provided by partners like the Tapco Group, Troutman Sanders Strategies, the HBA of Dalton, and the Vinyl Siding Institute. The winning team hailed from the Savannah HBA and included members Candler Wilson, Kevin Kirsch, Mike Mobley and NAHB Area Rep Dave Ashley. Kevin Kirsch also won the Long Drive Competition, while Franklin Bailey of the South Georgia HBA won the Closest to the Hole Competition.
A raffle drawing was held at the officer installation and awards banquet on Thursday night of the board meeting. B-PAC Chairman Mark King took the floor with help from Savannah HBA Executive Officer Patty Rietkovich who pulled the winning names from the bucket. Over 600 tickets were sold at $20 per ticket or 6 tickets for $100. Winners were:
