The Westside HBA October meeting convened at Gabe’s Louisiana Bistro. The meeting was sponsored by 84 Lumber and there was a great turnout. Members heard from Paul Zachos, the president of the association, about the current market conditions for the area. Westside HBA Executive Officer Chris Collier reported that several committees have been formed to help improve the image and bridge the relationship between the building community and the local governments. Additionally, a committee was formed to begin preparations for the 2017 membership drive. A representative from a local community foundation, Faith in Action, spoke about the many efforts in Douglasville that support underprivileged children. Derek Wirz, HBAG Area 2 Representative, spoke about the 2017 legislative initiatives of the HBAG.
