HomeAid Atlanta, the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, recently wrapped up its annual Essentials Drive, a metro Atlanta-wide drive to collect “essentials” such as diapers, baby wipes, baby food and formula for homeless infants and toddlers. The Essentials Drive ran from May 1 through May 9 in honor of Mother’s Day. This year, thanks to the support of the metro Atlanta home building community and many others, the Essentials Drive
crossed the one million mark: since 2002, more than one million essential baby items have been collected, assisting countless babies and moms! This year’s donations were delivered with the help of Atlanta-based UPS to 24 local nonprofit organizations that provide housing and supportive services to homeless infants, toddlers, and families. Several of these organizations operate in HomeAid-built facilities.
HomeAid’s Housing the Homeless Golf Tournament will be held at East Lake Golf Club on June 5. Golfers will enjoy a round of golf at historic East Lake, lunch, and a 19th hole reception. This is HomeAid’s major annual fundraiser and proceeds go directly to support HomeAid’s mission of building new lives for Atlanta’s homeless families through housing and community outreach. Registration is open through May 26.
