On March 10, 2017, HomeAid and home builder Jim Chapman of Jim Chapman Communities celebrated the dedication of the Spring Street Affordable Home at Family Promise of Hall County. Through HomeAid Atlanta, Jim Chapman provided a new modular home to Family Promise’s Next Step Program, a 90-day program that provides advisement, advocacy, and accountability for families seeking independence as they transition out of homelessness.

HomeAid currently has two major build projects in development. Oneprojectisthetotalrenovationofa5,400sq. ft. facility for Making a Way Housing. Making a Way Housing provides safe transitional housing and supportive services for individuals that are homeless, dealing with substance abuse, HIV and mental illness. The renovation will add 16 new beds at the facility.

The second renovation project is for Clifton Sanctuary Ministries (CSM). CSM serves homeless men through emergency shelter, transitional housing, and programs to help them transition to stability. Of the men served at CSM, 40% are veterans. HomeAid will totally renovate the emergency shelter and transitional housing facility.

HomeAid is the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta HBA with a mission to build new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach. In addition to major projects, HomeAid will complete ~10 volunteer Care Days this year.
