In 2017, HomeAid Atlanta, the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, saved homeless service provider organizations over $337,000 through five
major projects and 13 Care Days. Projects included the Family Promise of Hall County Spring Street Home, led by Builder Captain Jim Chapman of Jim Chapman Communities; a community center expansion at Phoenix Pass in Conyers with Builder Captain Todd Mayzurk; two renovations for Jesus Set the Captive Free in southwest Atlanta, led by Builder Captains Brian Canady, BBC Builders and James MacDowell, of Unique Homes & Renovations; and a bathroom remodel for SafeHouse Outreach in downtown Atlanta with Builder Captain Vince Longo of Vincent Longo Custom Builders.
•• Worked with 28 organizations, adding 20 new shelter beds and serving 1,000 people in need
•• Hit the one million mark on baby items collected through our Essentials Drive
•• Created 1,400 HomeAid CareKits
•• Collected over $16,000 in household goods & furniture through Stock the House Drive
None of this would be possible without the dedication, support and generosity of members of the Atlanta’s generous home building industry, HomeAid’s sponsors, and community friends. In 2017 alone, 450 building industry professionals volunteered with HomeAid to help build new lives!
